The Isolation of Intimacy at Sudio @620
These paintings reflect relationships and identities in a constant state of flux, subject to shifting perceptions. I attempt to portray the mysterious, often contradictory, intricacy of our being. Using oil paints, on a range of surfaces and layers, I am reflecting the multi-dimensionality of identity and exploring the spectrum of isolation and connectedness.
My artistic process bears a close connection to my subject matter. I am fascinated by the process of layering brushstrokes to build an image and an identity. Through fragmented images, warping in and out of their two-dimensionality, I now begin to deconstruct my process divulging the parts that make my subjects whole.
This was my first solo exhibition at Studio @ 620 in St. Petersburg, FL in 2011.
